The Rams and the Seahawks must lose but for all likelihood the 49ers season is done and . in few words, a big disappointment. As the Chargers seem to get amped in December the Kansas city Chiefs seem to be losing voltage to hang around for the post season and with just a few game remaining every game counts in the AFC west.
The surprising Raiders could even win the division but need a ton of help as well as winning out. however this has been a strange NFL season with tight divisions like the NFC west and the AFC west. The teams that fans set their hearts on have been a great let down. Take the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.
Brett Favre has played his last down after being planted into the turf he wilted and the NFLs iron man does not answer the bell but controversy and may be egos have poisoned the Super Bowl dreams of the Vikings fans. Now the Cowboys new stadium and Jerry Jones deep pockets could not by a trip to the Super Bowl but the egos sure sunk the team to a disappointing losing season and no chance at the playoffs and perhaps it is time for owner jerry Jones to stay in the sky box and let the coaches do their jobs.
On the fringe of not making the playoffs is the Indianapolis Colts last years AFC champions who were defeated by the New Orleans Saints and for the Colts to not make the playoffs would be like Santa Clause without Rudolph. Now the Colts quarterback suffers from Favre syndrome that is a interception at the wrong time as well as the Colts lack a solid defense; if they had won a few more games they would not be in the must win situation and needing help.
Now with the disappointments there have been some great surprises like the Atlanta Falcons.
will we witness a rebirth of the “Dirty Bird”? The answer yet to be known but the Falcons have the poise and defense to make the Super Bowl. In the like manner Tampa Bay and the resurgent Chicago Bears whos defense let down against a tough New England Patriot team but the Bears will come roaring back anchored by number 54 Brian Gurrlacher who is having a great season and if the Chicago Bears desire to win the right to the super Bowl they will have to play a level higher and tougher defense but waiting for them may be the knock out boys of New York; the Giants. the Gmen are set to take on the Eagles this week and the conference championship is on the line. The Giants defense have knocked out six quarter backs this year and now doubt Eagles QB is in the cross heirs of the Giants. Eli Manning needs to stay poised and not to be rushed is up to the offensive line of the new York Giants.
One thing is left to be decided who will win the wild NFC west. will it be the Seattle Seahawks or the revamped Rams with quarterback sensation Sam Bradford who last week got trounced by the New Orleans Saints but this Rams team is going to bounce back and this week will face the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams can win the wild west by winning two out of three of their games and two Seahawks losses but in the final week it may be the game when he rams face the Seahawks the Rams already have defeated the Seattle Seahawks.
So the playoff picture is still out of focus but will be a great ride into the playoffs so sit back and enjoy the ride.
