Oregon vs Auburn

The last college football game of the year is set to be played Monday night in Tempe, Arizona. The University of Oregon Ducks will face The Tigers from Auburn University. Current lines have Auburn as three point favorites and the over/under is at seventy three.

Auburn won the SEC Championship and battled through one of the toughest schedules in the country. Heisman Trophy winner and quarterback of the Tigers, Cam Newton is the reason why the Tigers have been so successful this season. He has passed for over 2500 yards and thrown 28 touchdown passes while rushing for over 1400 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns on the ground.

Auburn has averaged over forty points per game this year while giving up just under twenty five per contest. Newton has overcome all of the controversy the pay for play scandal caused and led his team to eight come from behind victories. That tenacity bodes well for the Tigers.

Oregon won the Pac 10 conference pretty easily this season. They led the country scoring just over forty nine points per game. The only close game they played was on the road against Cal in November. They won that game by a slim two point margin and managed to score only fifteen points in that game. Heisman runner up, LaMichael James leads the Quack Attack of Oregon.

He rushed for nearly 1700 yards and scored 21 touchdowns on the ground. Quarterback Deron Thomas played exceptionally well at quarterback for the Ducks. He threw for over 2500 yards and totaled 28 touchdown passes. Defensively the Ducks were among the top units in the country. They finished the season ranked 12th allowing just over 18 points per game.

This game looks to be an exciting and high scoring battle. The Ducks have not faced an offense the caliber of Auburn this season and will have trouble stopping Cam Newton and the Tiger offense. The same goes for the Tigers. They have not seen an offense like the Ducks. That being said, take the over in this game. Both teams should easily score forty or more points.
