PredictionsNFL Week Four Betting Lines & Picks Against the Spread
Denver Broncos vs Tennessee Titans -6
Kyle Orton has been hot or cold to start the season but facing a stout Tennessee Titans defense may be too much for Orton. The key to this game will be if Knowshon Moreno is available. Without Moreno the Denver running game is anemic. Take the Tennessee Titans -6.
Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers -2
This could be an all out war between these two AFC North combatants. Pittsburgh has won three games in Ben Roethlisbergers absence but this may be too much to overcome. These two defenses could be the best of all of the NFL. The two keys in this game are Troy Polamalu for the Steelers and Ray Lewis for the Ravens. The best of these two on Sunday will win the game for their respective team. Take the Baltimore Ravens and the two points.
Cincinnati Bengals -3 vs Cleveland Browns
Carson Palmer has looked terrible in the last two games and the Cincinnati Bengals have been fortunate to have a 2-1 record. Palmer has plenty of weapons if he could only get the ball to them. His best two receivers are not Terrell Owens and Chad Ocho Cinco. The two best receivers on the Bengals are actually rookies. Jermaine Gresham and Jordon Shipley have stepped right into the Bengals offense. Take the Cleveland Browns as the home dog +3.
Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers -14
The Green Bay Packers are a high speed train with Aaron Rodgers at the controls. Rodgers has developed into the best NFL quarterback on a week to week basis. Rodgers will have to deal with a developing defensive line on the Detroit Lions that includes impressive rookie Ndamukong Suh and new Detroit Lion Kyle Vanden Bosch. Take the Detroit Lions +14.
Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints -13
Jimmy Clausen struggled in his rookie debut last weekend but he can show improvement against a New Orleans defense that has not played well this season. DeAngelo Williams is the one player that can take this game over and keep Drew Brees off the field. Take the Carolina Panthers +13.
San Francisco 49ers vs Atlanta Falcons -6
San Francisco fired their offensive coordinator this week but the real problem is the quarterback. Alex Smith has never been an NFL quarterback. Matt Ryan is coming of age as a starting quarterback and he willed his team to victory over the New Orleans Saints last weekend. Take the Atlanta Falcons -6 to cover.
Seattle Seahawks -1 vs St Louis Rams
Sam Bradford has performed admirably in his first three games and in this game he can win his second NFL game against a team in the Seattle Seahawks that are pretenders at 2-1. Take the St Louis Rams.
New York Jets -4 vs Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills gave Tom Brady and the New England Patriots all he could handle. The New York Jets offense is still unimpressive despite two wins. Still it is tough to bet against such a strong defensive team as the New York Jets. Take the New York Jets to cover the four points.
Indianapolis Colts -5.5 vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Peyton Manning against the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars sounds too easy. Take the Indianapolis Colts-5.5.
Houston Texans -4 vs Oakland Raiders
The Houston Texans are coming off a brutal loss on their home field and their star wide receiver, Andre Johnson is injured. The Oakland Raiders will run the ball up the gut with Darren McFadden and win the game straight up as a four point dog.
Arizona Cardinals vs San Diego Chargers 9
The Arizona Cardinals are an awful 2-1 team and the San Diego Chargers are a great 1-2 team. Take the Chargers -9 points.
Washington Redskins vs Philadelphia Eagles -6
This game will get the most chatter but the Eagles with Michael Vick will romp. The game opened at Eagles -4 and moved two points. Take the Eagles -6
Chicago Bears vs New York Giants -3
The Chicago Bears have won this year but their offense is hit or miss. The New York Giants were humiliated in week three and they could be looking to make a statement. Take the New York Giants -3.
New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins Pick
For the second week in a row there is a prime time AFC East game. This one will also be a high scoring affair since New England has no defense. Take the New England Patriots in this pick em game.
